Our friend and professor Jaume Flexas has been awarded with the prestigious award for young researchers from the Federation of European Societies of Plant Physiologists, being the first time that a Spanish Plant Physiologist receives such pretigious award.
The Federation of European Societies of Plant Physiology (FESPP) presents, every two years, the awards to the best Young Researchers in Plant Physiology. The candidates to this award are presented by each Plant Phsyiology Society of the Federation. This award is based on the scientific career of the researchers under 35 years old considering the number and quality of their publications. The award will be presented during the Meeting of the Federation of European Societies of Plant Physilogy that will take place in Lion (France) this month of July and where the laureate will present the following conference:
"ECOPHYSIOLOGY OF PHOTOSYNTHESIS IN THE NEW CENTURY: LINKING GENES AND MOLECULES WITH PLANT, COMMUNITY AND ECOSYSTEM PROCESSES".
It's a great honor, for our research group, to have with among us the very first Spaniard that receives this very prestigious European Young Research Award in Plant Physiology.
El Professor Jaume Flexas Sans, del Departament de Biologia de la UIB, ha estat guardonat amb el Premio Sabater per a Joves Investigadors de la Societat Espanyola de Fisiologia Vegetal
La Societat Espanyola de Fisiologia Vegetal atorga cada dos anys el Premi
Sabater als joves doctors més destacats en el camp de la Fisiologia
Vegetal. Aquest prestigiós premi s'entrega durant l'acte de clausura
del Congrés Hispano-Portugués que enguany tindrà
lloc en la ciutat Portuguesa de Évora del 18 al 21 de setembre.
En l'acte de presentació del Premi, el Dr. Jaume Flexas presentarà
una conferència amb el títol: "ECOPHYSIOLOGY
OF PHOTOSYNTHESIS IN THE NEW CENTURY: LINKING GENES AND MOLECULES WITH
PLANT, COMMUNITY AND ECOSYSTEM PROCESSES". En aquesta
conferència el jove laureat presentarà un resum de la seva
recerca durant els darrers anys i un avanç de la recerca que es
portarà a terme en el Grup de Recerca en Biologia de les Plantes
en Condicions Mediterrànies".
Com a guanyador del Premi Sabater 2005, el Dr. Flexas serà el candidat que la Societat Espanyola de Fisiologia Vegetal presentarà al Premi de la Federació Europea de Societats de Fisiologia Vegetal per Joves Investigadors.
