32nd International AEDEAN Conference

The Organizing Committee is pleased to announce that the 32nd International AEDEAN Conference will be held at the Universitat de les Illes Balears (November 13th -15th 2008).

The event is being organized by the Departament de Filologia Espanyola, Moderna i Llatina (Àrea de Filologia Anglesa), Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB).

We encourage colleagues, students and friends all over the world to participate in AEDEAN 2008 in Palma, a unique meeting place for scholars who wish to share their ideas and join stimulating scientific debates in a forum characterised by AEDEAN’s interdisciplinarity (click here for panels).

The following plenary speakers have confirmed their participation to the conference:

  • Francisco Collado "The experimental novel in the new universe of force: time, trauma, and terror in Foer's and Pynchon's latest fiction" (Universidad de Zaragoza)
  • Robert DeKeyser "Analyzing the components of foreign language knowledge" (University of Maryland)
  • Maggie Gee "Writing about difference: Girl writes boy, white writes black" (Sheffield Hallam University)
  • Gordon Henry "Relative Distance and the Memorial Beyond in American Indian Literature" (Michigan State University)
  • Maria Teresa Turell "The task and role of the forensic linguist in giving evidence" (Universitat Pompeu Fabra)
