• The master is addressed to students possessing a Bachelor or Graduate degree in Chemistry or a related science areas, and who wish to pursue further PhD studies in Chemistry and Chemical Technology, or just acquire experience in research work in the following interdisciplinary areas:

  • Biological and Biomedicinal Chemistry
  • Organic Chemistry
  • Automation of laboratory and Environmental Chemistry
  • Food Engineering
  • Chemistry and Physics of Materials

• The programme will be taught by leading experts from the Department of Chemistry -University of the Balearic Islands- in collaboration with professors from:

• Through the Master Course, students should acquire a broad knowledge on how to address research, development and innovation issues. This would be accomplished by carrying out specific research work related to projects headed by the research groups of the Chemistry Department; which have been qualified as competitive by the local government authorities and sponsored by EU and/or the Spanish R+D+I National Plan. On graduation, you will be ideally placed to undertake genuinely interdisciplinary research in either academia or industry
• The doctorate programme is addressed to graduates in chemistry or related areas and its main objective is the academic training of candidate Ph. D. students who wish to direct their professional activity to scientific research in any of above mentioned areas
• The PhD programme is designed to give students insight into a range of research activities, techniques and skills as well as to widen their knowledge both of the subject itself and the context within which the research will take place
• Work for the PhD thesis will be carried out under the supervision of academic staff renowned for their research experience, and who belong to competitive research groups of the Balearic Islands University. The subject matter of PhD thesis in the programme will be highly relevant to currently financed research projects being developed by research groups of the Chemistry Department.
• The Ph. D. degree entitles the holder to carry out independent research projects, and it also constitutes a requirement for an academic career, either in the University or in Advanced Research Centres, both in Spain and abroad
