The University of the Balearic Islands is located
in the sunny island of Mallorca, in a beautiful
landscape beside the 'Tramuntana' mountains and
the Mediterranean Sea, and is only 7.5 km away from
Palma, a historical town full of life and culture.
The University is a young institution, 23 years
old, which plays a crucial role in the islands'
society. It is a modern University with, at present,
approximately 895 lecturers, 396 administrative
staff and 14,972 students.
The University offers 40 different academic degrees
with a great diversity of studies. Some of them

The University campus offers a range of facilities
such as libraries, computers for students, laboratories,
cafeterias and copy shops. Despite its youth, the
UIB has managed to establish a large number of international
relations in and outside Europe and has already
achieved a good reputation within the country due
to the excellency of its research.
