Curriculum breve

Profesor Titular de Universidad de Geografía. Cuenta con dos quinquenios docentes y tres sexenios de investigación. Es funcionario en excedencia de la Universidad de las Islas Baleares como Titulado Superior y del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas como Titulado Superior Especializado. Es director del Servicio de Sistemas de Información Geográfica y Teledetección de la Universitat de les Illes Balears desde su creación en 2002 (http://ssigt.uib.es. Es Secretario del Departamento de Geografía de la Universitat de les Illes Balears (2020-),  co-director de la Cátedra de la Insularidad (2023-, subdirector del Observatori de la Mobilitat de la Universitat de les Illes Balears, Presidente del Grupo de Tecnologías de la Información Geográfica de la Asociación Española de Geografía. En la actualidad forma parte del Grupo de Investigación RiscBal (http://riscbal.uib.es) y del Grupo Smart-Destinations.

Su trayectoria investigadora se centra en el uso y desarrollo de las tecnologías de la información geográfica para la comprensión y resolución de problemas ambientales y territoriales en diversos ámbitos temáticos: riesgos naturales, movilidad, salud, paisaje, medioambiente, etc.
